About Me

Adam Lockwood was captivated by music at an early age.  From playing cassettes through his new boom box to the days of playing classical violin in the school orchestra; Adam knew that music wasn't just enjoyable -- it moved his soul.

Yet, the muse had not truly taken hold.  In the seventh grade, a chickenpox-induced hiatus began Adam's life-long fascination with the guitar.   His mother taught him a traditional Spanish ditty and he began picking up songs he heard on the radio.   Not much later, Adam's father gave him his Rickenbacker electric, and the rest is history.  Like the virus that had instigated the whole episode, he was infected for life.

In his early college years, Adam knew that his involvement in music would be much more than a hobby.  He performed in several groups in and out of school, including an advanced choir, which had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.  During this time, Adam also performed with a progressive acoustic rock band, a big band jazz ensemble, and a singer/songwriter group.

Recently, the focus of Adam's creative energy has been occupied by his solo work.  Songwriting has always been the heart of Adam's musical expression.  He strives to create music that's composition and substance is able to be both universally appreciated and deeply personal.

Adam is a graduate of the University of Colorado Denver, where he received a bachelor’s degree in music business.  Aside from writing, recording, and performing his own music, Adam is the music coordinator at his church and teaches private lessons in guitar, voice, and bass.  In the near future, he aspires to open his own music publishing company.
